The van has basically been re-built from the Chassis up, new wings inner and outer, front and rear, side panels, Sills etc etc etc.
Passenger door and runner to be fitted,Passenger step to sort and a few bits and pieces then lots of filler. I will have a few panels left over, and will use some on Bowie, then sell the others to help other owners out.

Trailer found
Hello again! I've been busy over the Summer Months, as has a welder that I found! Steve has made good progress on Granville, and photo's will follow shortly.
I've bought this trailer today...LOVELY little thing ex GPO I think, I ws hoping it was more like the NWGB Trailers, but it's not bad...Can anyone identify it? it has Morris Hubcaps and is in very very good condition especially with it's age!

Bowie (sadly) up for sale
Bowie is sadly and very reluctantly up for sale on ebay.
He is actually in better condition than my JB that is being restored, but the restorer has dissapeared, and his restoration is falling behind, Bowie needs work done now to clean off the rust and get Primed at least, and I'm going to need the cash that I would have spent on getting Bowie done to get Granville sorted.
Bowie has had a recent Wing, sill etc,and is a very good project, very solid...but I dont mind if he doesnt go, I'll just find the money somewhere to get him cleaned up.

More bits saved
A trip to Wales again to pick up the front half of the Chassis that I left, and a couple of bits of the doors also. As a Commercial venue,it of course wasn't worth it, but I did get an Axle,Hubs,Master Cylinders,Two Wheels,One Spring, hangars and a few odd bits out of it,and it passed a nice couple of days.

Here's a rare beastie, a "New" J Type Cross member! I delivered this and the Chassis to Roly from Yorkshire together with some other bits that I managed to negotiate for him...a 681 mile round trip, quite harrowing at times, especially as my Sat Nav took me down what i can only describe as a Cart Track, with cars coming the opposite way...not good with a Trailer on!
Anyhow, Chassis safely delivered.

J Type Chassis in Yorkshire
Went to Yorkshire today....nice day for a drive, to look at a Chassis for sale...looks ..okay in the photo's, but a fair amount of work needed. If interested, send an email, and I'll pass details on. He wanted £350.....
He also had some doors,(all needed a lot of work,) a Steering Column and four or five front Grills, but again, they were in need of a lot of work.

Hydraulic Tilt Bed Tailer for sale
My current model Bateson Hydraulic Tilt bed trailer is for sale. I've only just bought it,but the towbar on the Jag is really too low for this beasty.
It has two Brand new uprated Axles (1500kg each)
5 Brand New 8 ply Tyres,2 Brand New wheels, Brand new Bearings,Brand new Hubs,Brand new Break-away Cable,and been re-wired.
This is not a new Trailer, and has had a slight bump nearside rear quarter, but been repaired, and has a new drawbar. Decent offers please. A brand New Trailer from Bateson is now £2600 +Vat without the spare wheel.

Van found in Wales...MFI style!
I shuffled off to the Welsh Hills yesterday, to collect a Van...or bits of a van that I was contacted about. Beautiful rolling Hills, stunning scenery, and a flatpack van!
The van started life as a Milk delivery truck, then a farmer bought it to keep his birthing Sheep in to keep them safe from Foxes (so still a delivery van I suppose?...Thanks Roly!)
There was VERY little left of it, it had been robbed whilst in the Woods, the Farmer had used the Engine Gearbox in a A60 and Rear Brake Drums in a Morris Oxford.
The front part of the Chassis (fell apart whilst the Farmer moved it) was really not worth saving, and to be honest, if I had tied it to my trailer, then I think that I would not have finished the journey with as much (wrong word) as I had started, BUT there was a current V5 and some usefull goodies.

Panel Supremo Iain McKenzies place
Nothing much happening with the cold weather at the moment, damp and Mig's don't work together well...as we found out! Still, the last photo's of Granville, with new Scuttle in place, and steps on one side done.
Really, after he had been left for so long at the Sandblasters, and his body sagged, he should have been broken for spares, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Appeal for Information.- North Western Gas Board
I will be restoring Granville to be (as far as I can) a replica of the van that my Father used to drive (that'll suprise my Mother) so he will be in Th North Western Gas Board colours of Red with Black Wings, and a Cream Oval with the Legend North Western Gas Board Gas and Coke Service, together with Decals of "Mr Therm"..if anyone has more info, fleet numbers etc, particulary with regards to Clitheroe and the vans that came out of there, I would be grateful.
